Klamath Basin Refuges to Host Wildlife Photo Workshop
An April 26th workshop for htmliring wildlife photographers will be the next in a series of events hosted by the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the National Wildlife Refuge System. The half day event will be available free of charge for a limited number of participants. Reservations are required and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis by calling . The workshop is suitable for those who are considering taking up wildlife photography as a hobby and participants will not be required to bring camera equipment along. Information packets will be given to participants outlining wildlife photography opportunities available on the Klamath Basin Refuges. The workshop will take place between 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. as scheduled below.
9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.- Wildlife photography techniques slide program and discussion at the refuge visitor center. The visitor center is located at 4009 Hill Road about 5 miles west of the town of Tulelake, California.
9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. - Discussion and demonstration of wildlife photography equipment utilizing both 35 mm and digital photography equipment.
10:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. - Break and light refreshments.
11:00a.m. to 1:00 p.m.- Field trip to visit three photography blinds on Tule Lake and Lower Klamath National Wildlife Refuges to discuss when and how photographers can take advantage of these facilities. Other opportunities and locations for wildlife photography throughout the Klamath Basin will also be discussed during the field trip.
Other Centennial events scheduled by the Klamath Basin Refuges during the next three months include:
MAY 24th : Tulelake Migratory Bird Festival with a guest appearance by Theodore Roosevelt! The family event will also include tours of nearby wildlife refuges, art and photography displays, live wildlife demonstrations, wildlife talks, exhibits, vendor booths, many on-hands programs for kids, food, music and much more.
JUNE 28th: Office dedication/open house and time capsule interment at Klamath Marsh National Wildlife Refuge.
JULY 19th: Guided canoe tour of Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge.
